| PURPOSE of the UNITED METHODIST WOMEN The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know GOD and to experience the freedom of JESUS CHRIST; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of missions through participation in the global ministries of the church. The United Methodist Women of Spring Lake Church meet the second Friday of each month at 12:30 pm. (No meetings for June, July, or August.) Aline T Bryant is the president of this group. |
| On December, 11th we had only 12 ladies in attendance. It was the last meeting of the year, but it was the most important one of all. This is the time of year that the UMW gives the funds raised during the year to its various missions: Mary’s House $200.00 Harvest Hands (UPS) $100.00 Harvest Hands Ministries $200.00 Mathewson's $200.00 The Dawn Center $200.00 Hospice $200.00 Habitat for Humanity $200.00 New Generation $200.00 Jericho Road $200.00 UM Children’s Home $300.00 UMCOR $100.00 Pastor Discretionary Fund $500.00 Youth Mission Trip $100.00 Lighthouse Ministries, Dade City $100.00 Total $2800.00 This amount does not include the disbursements for November to Kairos and the Visitation Team amounting to a total of $300.00. The quilt raised so much money for our missions, we decided to do a queen size one for next year. Our next meeting is scheduled for January 8th, at 12:30 pm and “Pledge Service” to be conducted by Diana Hague. A special thanks to the UMW members and the rest of SLUMC and your generous spirit. Without you UMW Missions would not be possible. Let us pledge to keep this spirit of generosity flowing during this joyous Christmas season and throughout the New Year. |
